Close to 60 students attended Explorations summer camps on Bowen Island.

The Bowen Island Arts Council received $1,330 to host its Visualize Bowen exhibit at The Gallery @ Artisan Square during Spirit of BC Week 2006.

The Bowen Island Spirit of BC Committee hosted events to celebrate the annual Spirit of BC Week.

The Bowen Island literacy task group received $25,000 from Literacy Now Communities to improve local literacy.

Students at one Bowen Island school participated in SportFit to get active and discover new sports.

Bowen Island Arts Council received $8,500 from Innovations for the second annual Voices in Sound Festival, and outdoor celebration of art, nature and history.

Over 200 children in 18 communities across BC  particpated in the BC Blind Sports Early Intervention Program, funded by the BC Sport Participation Program in 2004-2007.

Over 18,200 children and instructors in 13 communities participated in BC Athletics' Run, Jump, Throw program in 2007-2010, which introduces motor development skills, thanks to $20,000 from the BC Sport Participation Program.

Bowen Island received $3,640 from Spirit of BC.

Close to 3,300 students in 14 schools in the West Vancouver School District participated in Action Schools! BC to improve physical activity and healthy eating.

Bowen Island Football Club received $1,995 from the Local Sport Program Development Fund to certify new soccer coaches for the local girls' soccer teams.
