Tahsis Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

At Tahsis Winter Art Walk, local artists opened their studios so residents could see the local talent, including woodworkers, sculptors, painters and potters. A family dinner dance was held featuring local musicians from the Tahsis Arts Society.

The Tahsis Lions provided dinner, DJ and karaoke for the dance. In addition, there was a free public swim day and Elders from the community were encouraged to attend. Activities included races, a karaoke machine with DJ, dancing and singing in the pool. Tahsis was one of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007.

Spirit of BC is a province-wide program that involves 95 Spirit of BC committees, representing over 200 communities across the province. These committees support local programs and help create opportunities in sport and recreation, arts, literacy, volunteerism, business and tourism.
