Story
With Explorations funding of $5,000, Shoreline Community Middle School hosted a two-week arts camp for 32 children aged 8-14. The camp focused on improvisation and sketch comedy skills as well as storytelling and other theatre arts with recreation breaks in the school gym. Students prepared and performed two comedy shows for friends and families; for many campers, this was their first theatre experience. The overall success of the camp has prompted organizers to plan future camps, including some of the graduates of this program.
