Revelstoke Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2008

An estimated 2,500 Revelstoke residents attended Spirit of BC Week 2008 festivities. There were numerous events, including sports events such as the Nancy Greene ski race where local ski teams and teams from Golden and Nakusp competed at Revelstoke Mountain Resorts. There were family events including a snowman building contest and free swims. The week's festivities also featured cultural events such as East Indian dinner night and street banner painting. Revelstoke was one of more than 100 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2008.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism. The celebration is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
