Revelstoke Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, Revelstoke residents participated in a day of fun activities at Resort Mountain as well as a free family skate, including fireworks. Other activities included a pancake breakfast hosted by the community centre and a Winterlude scrabble tournament hosted at the Revelstoke Library.

In addition, the City of Revelstoke built a snowhill downtown for aerial and rail jam competitions for skiers and snowboarders. Instructors showed new participants how to jump and jam. Free Spirit Sports helped promote the events and provided prizes.

Spirit of BC is a province-wide program that involves 95 Spirit of BC committees, representing over 200 communities across the province. These committees support local programs and help create opportunities in sport and recreation, arts, literacy, volunteerism, business and tourism.
