The 2006 Senior A Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championship organizers received $15,000 from Hosting BC. The event drew 190 players in eight teams from across Canada and an average of 1,500 spectators per game for the week-long event.
There were 300 volunteers supporting the games and their knowledge will be used in coordinating other major sport events. Significant improvements were made to the Spruce City Men's Fastpitch Park, such as fencing, bleachers, and scorekeeping systems that will make it an attractive venue for future high level competitions. It is estimated that the event contributed $500,000 in direct business for Prince George, with many visitors travelling to other tourist destinations in the region.
