Lulu Performing Arts Society Creates A Festival of Nature

The Elements: A Festival of Nature in Performance is a 'terrestrial symposium' creating a dialogue between technology and the natural world through sound composition, installation work, digital media and performance art. The commissioned works by five world-renowned composers and video artists drew awareness to sounds of the natural environment and explored the relationship between living organisms and technology. The final pieces, funded by a $44,000 grant from Arts Partners in Creative Development, were presented at the Elements Festival on Gabriola Island in August 2008.

Arts Partners in Creative Development assists BC arts and cultural organizations to create and develop new works or further develop existing works. The program is in partnership with Canada Council for the Arts, Province of British Columbia, City of Vancouver, Vancouver Foundation and VANOC.
