Ladysmith Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2008

More than 300 people attended festivities in Ladysmith as they celebrated Spirit of BC Week 2008, one of more than 100 BC communities to do so. A highlight was Fall in Love with Ladysmith History, a celebration of Ladysmith-area history with displays by the Ladysmith Historical Society and the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce Leadership BC Ladysmith Spirit Team.

In addition, there was a free swim and a Spirit of Storytelling event for families that offered storytelling and social time in partnership with the Ladysmith Family Resource Program.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism. The celebration is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
