Kimberley Measures Up in Accessibility

Kimberley received $15,000 from Measuring Up. Funds were used for a community assessment and a variety of projects such as paving trails to make them more accessible; installing a wheelchair ramp at the liquor store; and improving signage for disabled parking. In addition, the City will explore opportunities to offer more accessible transportation, especially during non-peak hours.

Measuring Up helps communities assess and improve how accessible and inclusive they are for people with disabilities, seniors and others with similar needs. The program includes a fund, established by the Province of British Columbia, which offers grants to communities to complete accessibility-related projects.
