The 2005 Baseball Canada Senior Championships was supported with $10,000 from Hosting BC. The men's event drew 250 athletes aged 19-40 to compete in front of 5,000 spectators. Participants came from nine provinces and included 30 local volunteers.
The event led to the creation of a new senior league in Kamloops, the Interior Baseball League, and the new score-keeping software purchased for the tournament is available for other baseball functions in the city. The Championships also showcased the city's investment in refurbishing the venue, Norbrook Stadium. An estimated $80,000 was injected into the local economy through tournament-related spending.
