Story
Funding of $100,000 from Arts Partners in Creative Development allowed The Only Animal Theatre Society to undertake an extensive workshop of NiX. Canada’s first theatre of ice and snow, NiX deals imaginatively with themes of our environmental plight and the search for sources of life, hope and re-invention. The performance takes place on a set of snow and ice involving objects made of hand-blown glass to mimic ice. Set, light, and costume design all involve technical innovations. After several workshops in BC, NiX was premiered at the Enbridge playRites Festival in Calgary in February 2009.
