Ecole Rose Des Vents Hosts Explorations Summer Camps

With an Explorations grant, Ecole Rose des Vents provided one sport and recreation camp for 10 children from grades six to eight. During the seven-day, overnight camp, attendees were introduced to sea kayaking, canoeing, rock, climbing, archery, and a number of cooperative games. One night was spent camping along the Powell River Canoe Route, with the others spent at the CSF new sleeping facility.

Explorations provided students in kindergarten to Grade 7 with opportunities to explore arts, sport and recreation in summer camp settings. The program, which ran from 2005-2008, served students who were otherwise unable to attend summer camps due to location, local resources or financial limitations. Explorations was supported by the Province of British Columbia.
