Story
Chetwynd was one of more than 100 communities celebrating Spirit of BC Week 2008. A high school Valentine's Day dance featured music by the school's youth; Spirit of BC Altitude Youth students assisted with planning the event.
The Chetwynd Public Library hosted a Tutored Reading Program offering one-on-one literacy support. Civic Spirit Night drew 140 people to celebrate volunteers, coaches and club members. Other activities included a free public skate and swim and the Spirit Power Up Rally hosted by members of Chetwynd's Altitude Youth.
West Moberly First Nations hosted a First Nations Winter Spirit Festival at the Dunne-Za Lodge Heritage Village, featuring a round dance, soup and a bannock cook-off, as well as sports events such as hockey, sledding and snowman building.
