The 2006 National Netball Championships and Singapore Team Visit received $6,850 from Hosting BC. Nearly 200 athletes from two countries competed in front of 300 spectators.
Economic activity generated by the event includes approximately 260 hotel room nights booked, contracts awarded to local suppliers and local spending on goods and services by participants, spectators and volunteers. Officials and 80 volunteers - including junior volunteers from local schools - were trained for the event, contributing to a skill base available for future competitions.
