Story
The 2006 Clansmen International Wrestling Championships received $20,000 from Hosting BC. The event attracted 200 male and female athletes from Finland, Great Britain, the U.S and Canada who competed in front of 3,000 spectators.
Direct economic benefits include spending by participants and spectators on lodging, meals, transportation and other goods and services. The event enabled the training, certification and upgrading of B.C. and Canadian officials and the purchase of a new 800 sq.ft. mat for the provincial wrestling community. In addition, 50 volunteers were trained and will be able to serve at future events.
